13. 4. 2019 – My First Oscillator™

There’s no better way to get your feet wet in sound circuit design than with the wonderful 74C14 CMOS Hex Schmitt trigger.  We’ll breadboard oscillators that can be controlled with potentiometers, light sensors, electrodes on your skin, a drawing on paper, even fruits and vegetables.  By the end of the day you can solder up your favorite design to take home and dazzle your roommates.

Taught by Nicolas Collins, the author of Handmade Electronic Music – The Art of Hardware Hacking.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO BRING:

  • A loudspeaker, 10-20cm diameter
  • A 9-volt battery
  • Electronic hand tools if you have them (soldering iron, wire cutters and strippers).  If not, Common Ground can provide them
Note: Please let us know if you can’t make it max. 24 hours before the workshop, otherwise, we can’t reimburse you.
